2019 Fantasy Baseball Midyear Stats

It is everyone’s favorite time of year: Josh’s Midyear Update!!!! You know, where I use the very scientific method of ranking the totals in each category and totaling up how every team is doing compared to their record.

As you can see from the picture, my team has been the best this year. Not surprising that I am close to first place. Crazy how good my team has been on offense. Typically my strategy is to dominate pitching, but this year I went a different route during the draft and it looks to have paid off.

I think the most shocking aspect is how much better Sean and Gideon are compared to their standings and records. They should be up there with the top three, not 10+ games back.

Looking at my weakness (stolen bases), it would seem Sean and I should be able to find a deal. I have power hitters, he needs someone with some pop and seems to have some SBs to spare…hit me up man!

As per usual, Sean dominates the pitching. He has over 1000 strikeouts already. James is next, but is almost 100 Ks behind him. Sean does it by having aces, James does the streaming method.

The first half MVP has to be Christian Yelich. The dude has been a fantasy god for Adam2. He is already at 32 HRs/21 SBs. In fact, Adam2 has three players in the Top Ten (Yelich, Xander Bogaerts, and Rafael Devers). If only he had some pitching, he would probably be in that top tier as well.

One of the unlucky areas of the season for me has been the rate pitching stats. Despite having some of the best ERA/WHIP numbers in the league, my record is 5-9 for both. Dustin is in the same boat with stolen bases. He is 6-7-1 in a category that he pretty much dominates aside from Ryan & Sean (who is also unlucky there, he is 5-5-4).

It is great to see seven teams with winning records. I realize that Matt & Offord are not actually participating, so that means 7 out of 10 have winning records. I think that is pretty good. Also, Lindsey is close to .500 and Pat could certainly have a few good weeks and get back to the positive side.

This week we have some good matchups:
James (1) vs. Pat (9)
Josh (2) vs. Dustin (5)
Ryan (3) vs. Jason (10)
Sean (4) vs. Matt (11)
Adam2 (6) vs. Offord (12)
Gideon (7) vs. Lindsey (8)

I have a feeling the second half (okay, not technically the second half, but you know what I mean) will be pretty exciting! Good luck to everyone…
