Books Books Books!

I read a few books while on vacation, plus I listened to a couple since my last book post. Instead of writing an individual post for each one, I will just give a quick blurb about each one.

The Fires of Vulcan by Travis Starnes. The 5th book of the Imperium series. It is honestly hard to remember what happened in this one. I think the Romans were fighting the Carthaginian army in the European mainland. Carthage has acquired Chinese gunpowder, which is making things interesting. I will get back to this series at some point in life.

The Dark Forest by Cixin Liu, which is the sequel to The Three-Body Problem. I liked this one, even though it was hard to follow (I think this book would probably be better read as opposed to listened to, but oh well). I thought the book was super interesting like half-way through, and it ended with a great twist.

Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson. I read the first half of this book awhile ago, and then never could get back into it. I was reading it on my phone, and I am just not capable of reading that way. But at the beach this year, I was able to really focus on it and get through it. The book was fantastic. I loved how it tied into the bigger cosmere stories, and the characters who end up in the Stormlight Archives

Elsecaller by Brandon Sanderson. This was his double short-story (Elsecaller and King Lopen the First of Alethkar). These were cool stories that really helped fill in some gaps between books. And honestly, any story with Lopen is always entertaining.
