It looks amazing, but it also feels like they are cutting the story down by massive chunks (not necessarily a bad thing). It appears that the Seanchan will make an appearance fairly early (was that them, or did I imagine it?). I think they show up in the second book. It is crazy to think about cutting stuff out because ever small story led the characters somewhere and had some purpose. Unfortunately, it would probably need to be twenty seasons long to capture the entire series, haha.
My guess is the story focuses on Rand becoming the Dragon Reborn, the other characters reaching their power point and then fighting the Last Battle. You could probably do that in like five seasons (once you remove much of the Aes Sedai stories from the plot, then yeah it probably becomes manageable, but those stories were pretty good!).
Either way, I am excited. I always felt these books had the potential for some amazing sword fights. I have probably mentioned that a few times on this blog.
