New Phone Time!

As I said in my previous post, I was getting a new phone on Wednesday. I had it narrowed down to the LG V30 and the Samsung S8 Plus. Most people agreed that the Samsung was the way to go, but a few thought the LG was the better choice. I decided to head to the AT&T store and just look at the LG (when I went to the one at the mall, the display model was not on and they were super busy, so I did not want to wait around). I went to the other AT&T store in Johnstown and asked the guy to look at the V30. He asked me what other phones I was considering and I told him the S8+ and he then asked what phone I have at the moment. I told him and he said that I would like the S8 more than the V30.

I still wanted to check it out though, so he had to go to the back and get one because they never even put one out. That is probably not a great sign. I played with it for a few minutes and hated the feel of it, so my mind was made up. As I was leaving, the guy said “hey, have you considered the Note8?” I told him I had not, then went home and immediately started looking into comparisons of the two Samsung phones. Then, as I read about the S9, I noticed that it was available on March 2nd. I called the store the next morning and asked them if we came in that day, would I be able to do all the paperwork with Lindsey’s mom there and then pick it up on Friday. He said that the pre-order was available March 2nd, the phone would not be in stock until end of March. So that settled it for me. My phone was pretty much on it’s last leg. It was time.

We went down and I said that I wanted to see the Note8. I played with it for a minute or two and made my decision. I told the guy that I wanted the Note8 and we started the transfer process. I think I blew the guy’s mind when I said that I did not need the pictures transferred over nor the messages. I already backed up most of the pictures and why would I need all of those texts? The transfer only took a few minutes and then the phone was mine.

I have had the phone for a day now, and I definitely love it. The camera is amazing, check out this picture I took of Payton.

I initially thought the stylus would be stupid, but as I started using it, I can definitely see myself using it. I did not realize you could write notes on the black screen without opening an app. I like that convenience (since I do actually write notes at work all the time for things). Unfortunately, I have not had much time to play with everything yet, but everything seems great. I just need to find a decent case that is not super expensive. Also, I need to head back to the store because the screen protector they put on is making the phone almost unresponsive. The guy said it should gel after a few hours, but it is still not. It cost $50, so I am definitely taking it back.
