I had high expectations for this show. I was hoping we would get some Rebels cameos, but this looks incredible. We are basically getting a Rebels continuation. We got Zeb in The Mandalorian, this has Sabine, Hera, a hologram of Ezra, and most importantly…Chopper! Oh, and we have Thrawn!
There are also plenty of questions. Who are Baylen and Shin? Are they former Inquisitors? Are they Dark Jedi (it would be cool if they brought that idea back into Canon–Jedi who use the Dark Side, but are not Sith)? Could one of the people Ahsoka squares off with be Mara Jade? Side note, I read somewhere that Hera has a son named Jacen. That is a great nod to Legends!
In other Star Wars news, it was announced there will be three new movies. Rey is coming back as a Jedi Master who is rebuilding the Jedi Academy. Dave Filoni is making a movie set in the New Republic timeline (so probably an extension of the Mandoverse…with Grand Admiral Thrawn as the Big Bad). And the movie I am most intrigued about is James Mangold’s movie about the first Jedi.
