Five Years

It is crazy to think that Lindsey and I have been married for five years. Payton likes to ask me why I wear a ring and it is fun to try and explain what it means and why I wear it. I also think about how in the first few days of our marriage, I asked on Facebook if guys always wear their rings or if they take it off when they swim or when they sleep.

I can tell you that I wear my ring all the time. I rarely take it off. Maybe to clean it. One time it came off in the bed while I was sleeping. I did not realize it until I got to work and then I freaked out. I called Lindsey in a panic, but as soon as I got home, I found it. That is the longest I have went since our wedding without it on my finger.

So to answer Payton’s question…I wear my ring because it is apart of me. It reminds me of that day five years ago when Lindsey and I said our vows. I could probably say something about a ring and how it is a circle, but I think we have all heard those cliches a million times.

Lindsey and I have been through many ups and downs over the last five years (and we are almost at ten years of living together). I know it cannot always be easy with me (I am definitely a bit moody), but Lindsey puts up with me and she has not yet murdered me, so that is good.

I love her more and more each day. Happy anniversary, Lindsey! I love you and please don’t murder me.
