2022 Fantasy Baseball Season Wrap Up

The season ended and we have a new champion: Gideon! He defeated James in an epic battle. A 5-5 tie, which meant going to the tiebreaker: head-to-head record during the regular season. They only faced each other once and it ended 6-6! The second tiebreaker was overall record, which is how Gideon ended up as the champion. That is Gideon’s second championship (his first in ten years) and James is still looking for his first.

Down in the loser’s bracket, I managed to defeat Ryan for third place, although I am not sure how much either of us were trying. At the beginning of the week I was picking up some pitchers, but I stopped since I knew James was streaming, and I did not want to affect his chances.

Next season’s draft order looks like this:
Lindsey, Pat, Dustin, Matt, Jason, Offord, Sean, Jordan, Ryan, Josh, James, and Gideon.

A quick update on the history of the league:
1st place (regular season and playoffs)–5 points
2nd place–4 points
3rd place–3 points
4th place–2 points
5th place–1 point

Ryan still leads with 101 points. I am in second with 79, while Gideon has gained on me a little bit at 73. Next up we have Offord (56), Sean (37), Jason (33), James (33), Adam2 (26), Dustin (15), Lindsey (10), Matt (6), Pat (4), Jordan (4). Ryan has only finished lower than fifth place eight times. His lowest finish was 8th back during the 2018 regular season. Pretty crazy.
