Fact One: Deported many illegal immigrants back to Mexico. The only problem was that about a million of them were Mexican-Americans, and of those a large majority were actually birthright citizens. Many scholars today claim this was an example of ethnic cleansing in America. Go us!
Fact Two: The vice president to this president was the first Native American and non-European ancestry to hold one of the highest federal elected offices.
Fact Three: This president did not use a spokesman and instead spoke directly to reporters. In his first 120 days in office he held more press conferences than any other president before or after him.
Fact Four: He believed in a balanced budget and wanted to avoid deficit spending. He increased the federal income tax on wealthy people and bumped up the corporate tax rate. He doubled the estate tax (DEATH TAX!!!!!!) and he increased the tax rate on the net income of corporations. Jeff Bezos would not be a fan of this guy.
Fact Five: This president was a proponent of disarmament. He wanted to reduce the size and spending of the military in order to pay for other programs. He tried to get the rest of the world on board and to even outlaw tanks & bombers, but it failed miserably.
