2020 Transhumanist Party Candidate

I am not sure how I missed this huge news, but the Transhumanist Party had to pick a new nominee after Johannon Ben Zion left the party to vie for the Reform Party’s nomination (he lost). His running mate ended up being the nominee, which is a little weird. Charlie Kam, nor Liz Parrish (the new VP nom) did not run for the nomination during the primary.

I realize this is something that can happen and if something were to happen to Joe Biden, then the party could pick whomever they wanted to run in his place. But it is weird that the Transhumanist Party did not just have another primary vote (only 312 total voters, they could have probably done it via group text).

I love joking about these small parties, but in 2016 we saw many of those weird parties receive more votes than they had in years. My guess is that will be opposite this year. I think people realize the folly in voting third party and that it does actually make a difference. Although, maybe we can luck out this time and more of these parties will peel off Trump support, but I doubt that those 312 Transhumanist voters will be voting for Trump…
