A Dubious Peace

I thought these books were picking up and getting much better. Unfortunately I was wrong. Do not get me wrong, there were still some interesting parts, but it was just too long and very boring at times. It seemed like a never-ending discussion where Thorensen just wanted to show off his knowledge of the struggles of setting up the infrastructure to facilitate the Industrial Revolution. Yeah, it was about as thrilling as it sounds.

The good part of the book was the attack on Yosef’s party while visiting one of the clans. Thorensen can write a battle scene, although this one ended up being a little bit too long. The only other interesting thing from the book was the alien AI stuff. I wish there was more of that, especially since the AI has become more self-aware and is wondering about the Earthlings.

I am taking a break from this series. I have a few other books I want to listen to at the moment (as well as physical books I am reading).
