2025 College Football Predictions: Conference USA

C-USA has two new members this year: Missouri State and Delaware. Both teams had respectable years at the FCS level, so they should compete at a higher level than Kennesaw State. This conference always feels like it has a few okay teams with good records, then the rest are bottom feeders.
If I were a betting man, I would put money on either Liberty or Western Kentucky to win the conference. The Flames should improve over last season, they lost some folks, but also gained in a few spots. Chadwell will have them ready for the season. The Hilltoppers brought in a QB and OC from a top offensive FCS program…hmm, sounds familiar.
Louisiana Tech is the team that shows the most promise. They had a rough 2024, but if Evan Bullock can improve upon his strong freshman season, I think the Bulldogs could make a run at the title.
Intriguing Team: Delaware. As I mentioned earlier, they had a good season at the FCS level (they usually do), and they are returning a bunch of key players. The Blue Hens should make the First State proud. They have a tough non-conference schedule with Colorado and UConn, but they also face a weak Wake Forest toward the end of the year, and Delaware State. Winning two non-conference games will help them hit that 4+ win total that betting markets seem to have them at.
Hot Seat: Most coaches in C-USA have barely had time to warm it up. However, Sonny Cumbie has been at LA Tech since 2022, they have went 11-26 during that time. I would think another losing season would spell the end for him. I have said it before, if WKU has a strong season, I look for Tyson Helton to get hired by a bigger conference school.
