Best of 2023: Favorite Blog Post

I think I dialed back the blog posting a bit too much. I have been doing this for seventeen years. I mean, after a while, you just run out of things to say. My thought was by cutting down on the number of posts, that I would have more time to write meaningful stuff. I was wrong. Maybe next year I will write more.

But this is not a sad post about how my brain is turning to mush. This is about my favorite posts this year. I liked how I did it last year, sooooo I am going to do it again. My favorite post from each month!

January: The Tales of Short Round IdeaI started the year off with a bunch of solid posts, but the best was an idea for a Short Round television show.
February: Softball Tryouts–Payton had her tryouts for softball tryouts.
March: Payton’s Planet–Payton wrote about the planet she would live on for an assignment in kindergarten. Funny thing is, she said it again the other day. We were talking about planets (Logan was learning about them in his preschool class), and she said “I would live on Uranus because it is the most pretty.” At least she is consistent.
April: Someone Special Dance–Payton and I went to the Someone Special Dance!
May: Star Wars: My Pitch for the Next Time Period!–Come on Disney, this is a solid idea, I will work cheap!
June: Logan’s First Year of T-Ball–Logan enjoyed his first season of t-ball.
July: Trip to Hershey–We had such a fun trip!
August: Bedtime Nightmares–Payton has been a little better, but these posts are good reminders of the difficult stuff.
September: Do I Hate Country Music?–I asked myself an important question, and I came to a solid conclusion.
October: Chipmunk!–The adventure of a chipmunk in the house.
November: Impressive Skills!–This post makes me laugh.
December: Bowl Game Picks Part VIII–I love making my picks for the bowl games.

I had a few posts that I thought would be more popular. I wrote about a crazy person screaming at a Bud Lite truck. My NFL mock draft had a fairly strong point that no one likes to acknowledge (I thought Stroud was better than Young). Sean and I worked hard on a post about the greatest tennis players

However, if I am being 100% honest with everyone…my favorite posts this year were my college football rankings. I enjoy the work I put into them. I generally receive positive feedback, but as blogs like this continue to disappear, I may need to find a new way to do them. I am definitely considering other methods for 2024. Kind of a shame because I enjoy giving my reasons for most of the teams placement.

Anyways, it was a fun year of blogging. I will try to post more next year, or maybe I will post less. Honestly, it could go either way.
