I finished this book fairly quickly and wanted to read it before I read The Fallen Star. This one is for even younger kids than the YA novels. It was nothing special, but I think it was nice to set-up the events of The Fallen Star. I guess there are some spoilers here for this book.
I enjoyed Avon Starros being forced to help the Nihil and build a weapon. I am guessing that weapon comes into play again (or did it already somewhere else?). I also liked how the end of the book reveals that Avon’s mother is in league with the Nihil. Crazy that the Senator ends up being the traitor, when it was set up in earlier books that it was that other Senator.
I definitely enjoy Vernestra and Imri. The training of a padawan by a Jedi Knight who is barely older than a padawan. And the friendship and care that Vern has for Imri.
