Decades Project: 1980s Movie–The Abyss

My mom worked at a video store when I was a kid, and she would always bring home new movies when they came out. I remember sitting down as a family to watch The Abyss. It was not nearly what my 9-year-old brain had expected. I still love watching this movie and just the feeling of being that far under the ocean…I was afraid of water until I was around thirteen (that is when I learned to swim), so the scene where Ed Harris dives deep freaked me out.

I would definitely recommend watching the Special Edition, it has a much better ending.
