2018 Fantasy Baseball Week 12

This week looks like a fairly dominant win, but it definitely did not feel like it. I believe Matt was either winning or tied with me going into the weekend. My team had a pretty big Saturday/Sunday, which helped me pull ahead. This was my first time facing Jose Altuve and he definitely tried to make me regret that trade. Fortunatley Cole & Blackmon had great weeks to offset Altuve’s awesomeness.

KOW–Anthony Rendon–KOW

Rendon crushed the ball this week. He hit three home runs, knocked in seven, scored seven times, while hitting .444 with a .467 on-base percentage. Random thought…why do they call it on-base percentage, but then they do not represent it in % form? If you are going to call it percentage, shouldn’t you say he was on base 46.7% of the time? I guess just calling it on-base sounds weird. Anyways, Rendon has been pretty hot for the last month, hitting .310.

Around the League

Offord 8 Lindsey 3
Ryan 8 James 4
Jason 9 Dustin 3
Adam2 12 Pat 0
Sean 8 Gideon 4

Shutout alert! Shutouts are pretty rare and they definitely deserve some recognition. Adam2 absolutely destroyed Pat this week.

Best Move of the Week

I have like half my starting pitching on the DL. Unfortunately, I do not have enough spots, so I just put them on the bench. I decided to start streaming pitchers. It helped me pick up the wins category. Without streaming, I would have tied Matt. Instead, the combination of Brandon McCarthy, Brent Suter, and Freddy Peralta picked up three wins for me. Plus, with Marco Estrada, Jaime Barria, and Domingo German; I was able to add 31 more strikeouts. Also, I picked up Sam Dyson, who was not great this week, but did nab me a hold and three more Ks…those moves were enough to help me beat Matt.

The New Week

The standings definitely shifted around a bit and with some big wins from Sean, Jason, Offord, and Adam2; it looks like the separation I feared is pretty much gone.

There are two fairly interesting matchups this week: Offord & myself, and Sean vs. Adam2. Offord needs to continue winning if he wants to move up into the first tier, whereas I need a win if I want to stay in the playoff hunt. Adam2 jumped into the first tier and would love to stay up there, whereas Sean is in the exact same boat as Offord. The rest of the league looks like this: Lindsey/Ryan, Gideon/Matt, Jason/James, and Dustin/Pat.
