The Biden Presidency Begins

Today marks the start of Joe Biden’s presidency. It goes without saying that he has some work to do. I tried to give Trump a chance, but he pretty much failed that chance on day one (not even kidding, once he started lying about the size of his crowd at the Inauguration, I knew we were in for a wild ride).

I hope Biden and Harris can lead our country to a better place. I hope everyone can celebrate the fact that we have our first woman as VP (not only that, but our first person of color VP as well). I hope America can heal.

And yet…I am afraid. Not because of anything this administration will do. They will be fine. I am more concerned about where we go as a nation. Will people stop believing crazy conspiracies? Will people realize that white supremacists are a major part of the Republican party and need to be excised? There are so many major problems within our country and it does not seem there is any way to fix them.

Anyways, no more pessimism from me on this day of hope and enthusiasm.
