Vacation Summary!

Lindsey and I were on vacation this past week. Normally this would be the spring-cleaning vacation, and working on the outside stuff, but the weather did not cooperate. The kids did not help matters either. Here is a quick play-by-play of the week.

Saturday
Payton had a Girl Scouts event that lasted all day. We decided to take Logan to 814 Lanes. He played a ton of games, and absolutely loved driving a car. He probably played Cruisin’ USA or whatever it is called ten times.

Sunday
We went to our nephew’s first birthday party. We helped set up and tear down, so it was a good chunk of the day. Payton may have eaten a bit too much candy and sweets. She threw up in the middle of the night. We had to clean up a mess (well Lindsey cleaned it, I almost threw up just from the thought of it, ughhh).

Monday
Payton stayed home from school. We felt bad about taking Logan to daycare, so we ended up keeping him home as well. Needless to say we did not get much done around the house. Payton felt fine later in the day, so we ended up going to swim lessons.

Tuesday
Back to normal, we sent the kids to their respective schools. We did some work around the house, I installed the battery backup for the sump pump

Wednesday
This was a crazy day! Kids went to schools, we started cleaning. Then we got alerts that the school was being locked down due to swatting calls. It was a crazy few hours wondering what was going on (fortunately our school district and the preschool/daycare kept us constantly updated), and fortunately this was all just a false alarm (but glad they took it seriously). I had someone come out and look at the water issues in our yard. Then the kids came home, we had to go to softball practice. Payton had to leave early for her final swim class, but I stuck around to keep pitching to the girls. Then I met up with my family to see Logan swim. They both did such a great job, that we went for ice cream.

Thursday
Logan had his first dentist appointment. He handled it like a champ! Lindsey worked that day, and after school Payton had Girl Scouts. Logan and I chilled on the couch watching Bluey. Not a bad way to spend an hour. I think I did a ton of laundry that day as well.

Friday
Another guy came out to look at the yard and give us an estimate. He had completely different thoughts than the first guy. I will be interested to see where they both come in at, and what they recommend. Payton is done early on Fridays, so once she got home, we went to Altoona. We figured the kids could use some fun, so we took them to Urban Air. I seriously want to buy a franchise for Johnstown. Anyone want to be partners? Also, Payton and I did battle above the foam pit. I destroyed her!

Saturday
A full morning! We went downtown to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Then we took Payton to dance class, and after that she had softball practice. I cleaned the bathroom once we were home. Logan has started to pee standing up. Yeah, I know, something to celebrate, right? I mean, he is now tall enough to reach, hahahaha. But…he has a habit of missing. So yeah, I had the joy of scrubbing every inch of the toilet. And floor. And surrounding area. After that the kids colored eggs with Pap & Gram. I watched baseball. We decided afterward to go to dinner at the Mexican restaurant, but when we pulled in, it was packed. Screw waiting, we went to the mall since there is a Mexican restaurant there. The mall was busy, which is weird for 2023. Hell, the fountain was turned on, and Logan thought that was the coolest thing ever. After we finished there, we went to Sweet Frogs. We came home, the kids showered, then we watched a movie. Logan said “this was the best day of my entire life!” Hahaha, what a silly kid.

Sunday
We got up and went to the Aviary. A bird flew straight at my head. It scared the crap out of me, as well as Lindsey. I jumped, she screamed. Also, another bird took a pencil from Logan. The kids had a bit of a battle with that bird to get the pencil back. It mostly involved staring, and maybe some weird noises. On the way home, Lindsey decided to get a free elliptical from a friend. I had to go borrow someone’s truck, then go get the elliptical, unload it at our house, and then take the truck back.

So yeah, it was a full vacation, and at the same time it felt like we did not do anything. Anyway, tomorrow I am back to work.
