Top 50: Favorite TV Shows–The Setup

A friend posted something on Facebook about Mad Men being one of her top three favorite shows, which made me think about my favorite shows. I decided to do a top ten list, but then as I started writing shows, it turned into a top twenty, then thirty, and it finally ended on fifty. Naturally as I started doing a list like this, my brain had all sorts of rules. So here they are (and trust me, they are more like guidelines, since I probably broke a few of them).

  • It has to be a show that is over. Shows that are still going are automatically out (This Is UsLast Week Tonight, The Mandalorian and a few others are disqualified).
  • I had to watch the entire series (or at least close to the entire series). For example, I missed an episode or two of some shows on the list, but I did finish the shows. I did not include a show that I just stopped watching because it became crappy (this includes Heroes, or Community–since it bounced to like fifty different platforms).
  • If it was a limited series with only a single season, it had to be extremely good. There were a few shows that were canceled after a season that I enjoyed, but I did not include them (Terriers).

For the rest of the week, you will be treated to my countdown. I am sure I missed a show somewhere. So feel free to comment and point them out.
