2019 Fantasy Baseball Week 14

I swear I am the only person who has troubles beating Offord this season. Yeah, it was 8-4, but he was actually winning fairly late into the week. Fortunately, I was able to pull ahead and secure the victory going into All-Star break week.

Fantasy Player of the Week
Mookie Betts had a great week. He hit .435 with a .533 OBP. He scored eleven runs with three runs batted in and a stolen base. Betts has been having a quiet season (well quiet for him, he is still 8th in the AL with a 3.5 WAR), but this could be the point where he explodes for some massive production.

Around the League
Jason 8 Matt 3
Dustin 7 Lindsey 5
Ryan 8 Adam2 4
James 6 Gideon 6
Sean 11 Pat 1

Wow, Sean really put a damper on Pat’s dreams of getting back to the winning side. Sean totally made himself into one of the top tier teams with that performance.

Best Move
I mentioned the blockbuster trade that occurred last week. The trade was between Dustin and Ryan. Dustin traded Aaron Nola, Luis Castillo, and Mookie Betts for Mike Trout and Sergio Romo. Personally, I feel like Dustin got screwed here. He could have probably went with a Betts/Trout straight-up trade or he could have asked for more than just Romo. Let me explain my reasoning here…Ryan loses Trout at the end of the season. So it makes sense for him to trade Trout for another superstar. Dustin has leverage here, he only had Betts for one year. Now though, Ryan has two great pitchers Yikes, things could get rough for some of us, especially if Betts has a few more of these weeks.

The New Week
Since the All-Star Game is this week, that means the new week is long. It will go until the 21st. I take on Dustin, Lindsey faces Gideon, Sean continues his reign of destruction on Matt, Ryan hopes his new players can destroy Jason, James will probably lose to Pat, and Adam2 should rebound against Offord.

Here are the updated standings…

Next week I will post about the stats of the season and how the teams are actually doing…
