A Fun Weekend

Lindsey and I had off this weekend (I know, it is crazy that we get a weekend off together…I wonder who does my schedule?). We are totally fun people and we spent most of Friday night after work and early Saturday cleaning the house. I KNOW, CRAZY STUFF!

We went to Seven Springs for some snow tubing later in the day. I was not very excited about it. I have never had any desire to go skiing or snowboarding. Anytime someone would ask me, I would say “I hate the cold.” But, Payton was excited to try it out, so I figured I would suck it up for one day. And guess what? I loved it!

I was worried that Payton would get up to the top of the hill and freak out that she was scared. Sometimes she is weird with stuff. We went down the first time on the smaller hills and she thought it was great. Her cousin wanted to go down the big hill (which is not really bigger, but just has more drops and is a tad bit steeper). At first Payton kept saying that she did not want to do it. We convinced her to give it a try. She loved it and after that we only did the big one. The two hours went by super fast and we managed to go down more times than I thought we would. On one of the trips down, Payton lost her hat, but we got it back because someone grabbed it and put it on the fence.

After our time was up, we had dinner at the one restaurant there. It was a buffet and I will be honest, it was not that impressive. It was $30 and there was actually not that much stuff. The good thing was the kids ate free since we got it. But I would have rather ordered a meal, I saw people who ordered the pork loin and it was huge and looked delicious. Oh well, live and learn.

Once dinner was over, we hit up the arcade. The kids won a bunch of tickets on some random games. They had enough to buy some really cool things, like slime and a blow up guitar. Spend $20, win a bunch of $2 prizes…awesome. We came home and put the kids to bed, then Lindsey and I enjoyed some wine while watching Spider-Man movies (FX had Into the Spider-Verse and Paramount was showing Spider-Man 2).

We woke up Sunday morning and made waffles, then I went to the grocery store. Payton’s friend Conor came over for a fun play date. They ran around and acted crazy for a few hours, then Conor and his mom went home. I started making dinner. I decided to do full-size wings. I have no clue why I thought that was a good idea. I hate full-size wings. I did not plan on cooking them on the grill, but at the last second I changed my mind.

I did not cook them long enough, so they skin did not become crispy. They were good, but not great. I did honey bbq, buffalo, and a mango seasoning. They were all good, just not the best I have made. Lindsey made a bunch of dips, so we had those to eat as well. The kids had pizza…because they are kids and eat like nothing.

Once we were done eating, it was time for the game. The kids watching intently (just kidding, they both watched their tablets). Logan must have been exhausted because he fell asleep on Lindsey much earlier than his normal bed time.

Yeah, it was a good weekend. Minus the cleaning.
