Best of 2022: Favorite TV Show

I do not know how I could choose my favorite show this year. My initial reaction was to pick House of the Dragon or The Rings of Power, but then I started thinking of all the shows that I enjoyed this year. Here is a list of all the shows I really enjoyed. I will rank the shows on a scale of 1-5 ◊. Five being a tremendous show to a one, which is still good, but nothing special.

House of the Dragon ◊◊◊◊◊
Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power ◊◊◊◊◊

So eight shows with a 5-◊ rating: HOTD, LOTR:TROP, Star Trek: SNW, Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Euphoria, The Bear, and The Dropout. If Lindsey had a vote, she would say The Dropout. We watched it together, and we loved it. The show that surprised me was Andor. I never thought it would be as good as it was. Euphoria just continued the excellence of the previous season, while also scaring the shit out of any parent. The Bear was probably the show that I heard so much about from others and decided to give it a chance, and found that I loved it. I had extremely high expectations for HOTD, LOTR, and Kenobi, and all three of them managed to surpass my hopes.

And yet, if I am being truly honest with myself, the show I looked forward to each week more than any other was Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Maybe because I am newer to Star Trek fandom, it allows me to just enjoy shows without overthinking (I know I can do that with MCU or Star Wars stuff at times). I look forward to the next season.
