2026 College Football Predictions: Mid-Atlantic Conference

New team alert! Yes, Northern Illinois left the conference for the MWC, but the MAC was able to bring in Sacramento State, one of those traditional Mid-Atlantic schools. If life made sense, Sacramento State would have went to the MWC, but…nothing makes sense anymore.
I think my predictions for this season will be pretty far off. This is a conference where every team seems to just beat each other. A bunch of 6-6s. With that being said though, looking at Ohio’s schedule, they should have a pretty easy road to the championship. I think Toledo is probably the better team, but they have some tougher games. Miami OH and Western Michigan will be right there in the thick of things as well.
Intriguing Team: Bowling Green. Yep, the Falcons. The team coached by Eddie George. I think they could end up having a great season against the conference, but I have this weird feeling they might go 0-4 in those out-of-conference games. They play Nebraska, Iowa State, and South Florida. But they start the season with Tarleton State (remember, they beat Army last year), and I could see BG stumbling out of the gate with five straight losses–since they start conference play against Miami OH. But then they shock everyone by finishing 6-6.
Hot Seat: I think we have basically turned over most of the coaches in the MAC. There are two left that are probably in trouble. Joe Moorhead,13-35 since taking over at Akron, but they improved last year, and they put zero money into the program, they are probably just happy that a coach is willing to work there. But I would also say that Chris Creighton of Eastern Michigan might be looking for a new job after the season. He is 61-83 since 2014, and 1-5 in bowl games. Something tells me that having four winning seasons in 11 seasons is not good enough.
