Another day, another small project in the house. This time it was the light in the playroom. Lindsey hated the one that was in there.
She bought a light on Amazon and it looked easy enough to install. I popped the old one off and there were like 653 wires. UGH. Okay, maybe not that many, but there were definitely way more than two like the new LED light.
I took a guess what each wire was for and connected everything. I flipped the breaker and guess what??? The light worked. I mounted it to the ceiling and called it a day. Not really, I decided to work on another project.
The sun started going down and I needed to turn on some lights in the dining room and kitchen. I flipped the switches and nothing happened. I checked and the playroom light still worked. I went down and flipped the breaker off. Those lights are all connected to one breaker, so I figured I had to have messed something up.
I took the new light off and pulled the wires out and realized that I must have missed one of the wires. I connected the wire, then hit the breaker. All the lights worked! I am on my way to becoming an electrician (just kidding, this is the extent of my electrical skills).
The light works well, it definitely gives off a different feel to the room. I am not 100% sure that it is bright enough, or we may need a floor lamp for the corner.
