2020 Preview

2020 has plenty of potential. There should be some great things going on in my life whether it be with the kids, my house plans, vacation ideas, and plenty of great entertainment options. Unfortunately, it looks like the election will overshadow everything for the year. The results could sway the mood of an entire year.

January–this month will be dominated by Payton. We have her birthday and then her party. I look forward to her turning three. I sometimes forget that she is not three yet. I know, that probably seems weird, but she sometimes seems older, then will have a moment where I remember that she is only two.
-Payton’s 3rd Birthday! (January 6th)
-Payton’s Party (January 11th)
Avenue 5–The new HBO show from the creators of Veep (January 19th)
-Football national championship game and NFL playoffs (no Steelers, so my interest will be minimal)

February–Not much happens this month. I have a trip to Pittsburgh for work, which I am not looking forward to, but I suppose it gets me out of the house for a few days.
-Super Bowl (February 2nd)
Birds of Prey (February 7th)–Maybe this will be a movie I check out. Maybe my wife will go with me for Valentine’s Day.
-Academy Awards (February 9th)–Obviously I will watch and most likely do my picks and write stupid Facebook commentary.
-Mom’s Birthday! (February 11th)
-The Lumineers (February 25th)–The Lumineers will be at PPG Paints Arena and I would like to get tickets through work.

March–Big focus this month will be Logan’s first birthday. I would like to take my first vacation of the year around his birthday and use some of those days off to get some house stuff done outside (clean out and organize the shed, organize the garage), but the weather could be a factor.
Onward (March 6th)–This looks like a cute Pixar movie and I think we could take Payton to see it.
-Logan’s 1st Birthday (March 17th)–No clue when his party will be and what our plan is for that, but I am sure it will be overdone (I know my wife).
-Pirates Opening Day (March 26th)–The Pirates start the season in Tampa Bay (why?). I am not enthusiastic about the Pirates this year, but I will be watching.

April–Spring time is hopefully here! My goal is to have the outside stuff done around the house in April.
-Pirates Home Opener (April 2nd)–The Pirates take on the Reds for their home opener. I hope Adam2 and I are going again, we have a tradition after all.
No Time to Die (April 8th)–The final Daniel Craig James Bond film. Not sure if I will go see it, but I would like to…
-PA Primary Day (April 28th)–We finally get to choose our candidate to go up against Trump.

May–This is when movie time starts to really pick up. Also, the weather will be nice and hopefully we can start taking the kids outside more. Hoping we can get a fence this year to make things a bit more fun in the backyard.
Black Widow (May 1st)–It feels like we have went years without a Marvel movie. I am ready to get back into it!
-Mother’s Day! (May 10th)–Payton and Logan better buy their mother something nice…
Artemis Fowl (May 29th)–I never read these books, but I think the movie looks cool. I doubt Payton is old enough for this, so I might be seeing it on my own, haha.

June–Sweet summer time! I wonder if we have a vacation planned for this month. I hope so.
Wonder Woman 1984 (June 5th)–I am excited for this one! Lindsey and I saw the first together, she better go with me for the sequel.
Soul (June 19th)–I want to take Payton to see this one, but I wonder if this Pixar movie might be a bit over her head.
-Father’s Day (June 21st)–Logan & Payton better get me something nice!!!

July–This is another good month for us to take a vacation. Maybe not go anywhere, but just a week to enjoy the weather.
-4th of July!–Maybe Payton will enjoy fireworks this year.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (July 10th)–I thought the trailer looked cool.
-Adam’s Birthday! (July 13th)
-Democratic National Convention (July 13-16)–Could we have a contested convention? Will the election turn into more of a shit-show than it already is because of Trump?
Tenet (July 17th)–I am pumped for Christopher Nolan’s new film.

Morbius (July 31st)–The next Spidey-verse movie. The story of Morbius, who is a vampire.

August–August is always a fun month. The weather is usually great, we have our anniversary, and fantasy baseball starts getting crazy with the playoffs right around the corner. I hope we can hit up another concert this year.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (August 21st)–I hope my brother wants to go see this with me!
-Five Years! (August 22nd)–Lindsey and I should probably do something special to celebrate our fifth anniversary.

September–Fall is coming. Since we are not moving this year, I hope we can get out and do some fall stuff.
To Sleep in a Sea of Stars (September 15th)–Christopher Paolini finally writes a new book! I loved Eragon and the Inheritance Cycle. I look forward to see what he does in the sci-fi realm.

October–My birthday month! We will probably do some pumpkin patch stuff again and who knows what else. Maybe the Pirates will be in the playoffs…hahaha.
-My 40th Birthday! (October 2nd)–I would like to have some kind of celebration.
Venom 2 (October 2nd)–I really liked the first one.
-Halloween (October 31st)–I think this could end up being an exciting Halloween. Payton was cool this year, but I imagine she will be even more fun in 2020. Also, Logan will be a little bigger, maybe we can do a silly family costume.

November–Damn, where has the year gone? Fortunately we have a trip to Florida this month through work, so that will be fun!
-Election Day! (November 3rd)–Will Trump still be our president? If he loses, will he he actually leave the office peacefully? Or will he win and the next four years will be spent listening to why the Democrats lost, ugh.
The Eternals (November 6th)–I am pumped for this movie and to see where the MCU heads post-Thanos.
Stormlight Archive Volume 4 (November 17th)–I hope this is an official date and the next Brandon Sanderson book comes out this month.
Raya and the Last Dragon (November 25th)–A Disney film about a dragon. This could be a possible movie to take Payton to see.
-Thanksgiving (November 26th)

December–December 2019 is not even over yet and I am trying to figure out what will be happening next year.
Dune (December 18th)–I enjoyed the book and hope that the movie can capture what is great about the classic.
-Christmas (December 25th)–I refuse to think about Christmas yet.
