2023 Fantasy Baseball: Week 9

Not a great week. I mean, my team hit alright, but the pitching did not hold up against Sean’s team. I think it was a little closer at one point over the weekend, maybe 7-4, but he pulled ahead on home runs. Hard to win though when he had almost all the pitching categories sewn up going into the weekend.

Fantasy Stud
So maybe trading Mookie Betts away was a mistake. He had a great week for Offord. Six runs, four home runs, five RBIs, and one stolen base. He hit .360 with a .429 OBP. The only player better than Betts this week was Corey Seager. Damn, it would be nice to have them both on the same team. Hey, at least Pete Alonso had another stolen base! Granted, he only hit .130, so maybe he should focus more on hitting the ball instead of trying to steal.

The Season
There are five tiers right now.
Tier 1: Offord (70-30-8)
Tier 2: Ryan (61-42-5) 10.5 GB
Tier 3: Dustin (51-44-13) 16.5 GB; James (54-50-4) 18 GB; Gideon (53-49-6) 18 GB; Jordan (50-48-10) 19 GB; Sean (51-51-6) 20 GB; Josh (51-51-6) 20 GB; Jason (49-50-9) 20.5 GB
Tier 4: Lasher (47-57-4) 25 GB; Lindsey (41-58-9) 28.5 GB
Tier 5: Pat (26-74-8) 44 GB

The third tier is so ridiculous close. Each week can have wild swings. It will be interesting to see if any of us can jump to the second tier. This week I take on Lasher, and I need a big win to help me jump back to the top of the third tier.

Another song that fits for the week…

Come on though, this song by Jagwar Twin is just sooo damn cool.
