Election Rambling

Tomorrow is Election Day. I thought about writing various things, but honestly, I am burnt out with everything. This election has been exhausting. A months ago Payton asked me if I liked Joe Biden or Donald Trump. It was such a weird question coming from a seven-year-old. Once Kamala Harris became the nominee, Payton would see the signs and ask about her. I told her who I was voting for and why, and now she is constantly listening to the commercials, and asking questions. I suppose it is good that she is taking an interest, but also, she is 7, BE A KID!

I have stopped posting about politics on here, and have posted minimally on Facebook. I am tired of the debates. They never go anywhere. No one convinces anyone of anything. So, I just stopped posting that shit. I have a few friends on the left, who have cut off all relationships with people who voted for Trump. I have many friends and family members who are Trump supporters. I am not cutting them out of my life. Vote for who you want, I may disagree with your decision, but it does not change our relationship.

Politics has permeated every aspect of our culture. Go to the comments of any article on Facebook or Twitter, within a few posts there will be an argument about politics. I see it on college football posts, Star Wars, chef pages, and home improvement stuff. Everything we like has become polarized. The comedians you enjoy, the TV shows you like, even the beer you drink. It is all so fucking ridiculous.

So yeah, this is a bit of a downer post. I am sorry for that.
