New Phone Time Again!

It’s that time again! My Note8 was starting to have some issues. First of all the charging port was loose and it was hard to keep the cord in for it to charge. And the battery would only last a few hours before it was completely drained.

Unlike last time, I knew precisely which phone I wanted: Note20 Ultra. The cool thing is that AT&T had a deal where if you traded in your phone and had an unlimited plan, you could get $1000 towards a new phone. Sadly, my phone did not qualify because the back was cracked. I just have to take it to a place in the mall to get the back repaired and I will get the credit. Pretty cool.

Samsung’s transfer feature works great. It seriously only took about fifteen minutes to transfer my entire phone. Not only that, but passwords and all the settings were saved for the most part. A did have to log in to most of my apps, but that was not a big deal.

The phone itself is fairly similar to the Note8, minus one small feature that took me a second to get used to: the front camera. The Note8 had the camera hole obscured at the top by a black strip. I guess they extended the screen, but in doing so you can see the hole for the camera. At first it was a little odd, especially since my wallpaper is a brighter color, it really stands out. But after a little bit, I stopped even noticing it. And when you open videos or apps, they do not extend that far up, so it does not matter.

The camera definitely is an improvement, which is saying something because I always thought my Note8’s camera was fantastic. Unfortunately, the camera does not have the ability to make my kids stand still during a picture haha. I will not lie though, 9000×12000 pixels may be a little much (not sure I can upload them to here at that resolution).

I do have one complaint: the headphones. I do not care about the lack of headphone jack, but the Note8 came with a pair of headphones and this one does not come with them. I do have a pair of wireless headphones, but they were never loud enough (I think I last used them with my S6 and I wonder if it was Bluetooth issue?). I will try them sometime, or I will get a new pair of headphones.

Here is a cool history of my phones if you are interested…
