Pokemon???

The kids got this game for Easter. They like Pokemon cards, probably because many of their friends collect them, and play. Payton & Logan have zero clue how to play or what to do with the cards, they just know they want them. Unfortunately for them, neither Lindsey nor I know how to play. So this game is perfect.

It actually has a nice tutorial, the decks are set up for you, and you just follow the instructions on each step. We went through it (Logan was tired, and fell asleep, so Payton and I played). Once we made it through the tutorial, we played a couple of games. I think we were doing it right, haha. I actually enjoyed it, and can see the appeal. I have never played any of these types of games, although I have always wanted to learn games like Magic: The Gathering.

I was confused about a situation that happened, and if anyone plays Pokemon, let me know what is proper. It was my turn, so I did all my moves, then attacked Payton. I beat her, and the prize card I drew was a basic card. My bench was empty, and on Payton’s turn, she evolved her active card and hit me with an attack that defeated my active Pokemon. Since I had no one in my bench, I could not move anyone into the active circle (sorry if these terms are incorrect, I am just going off what the game board says) and I lost. But I was wondering, could I have played the prize card to the bench as soon as won it? I was under the impression the turn ends after the attack (does the prize card still fall into that turn?).

If anyone knows, let me know…
