Decades Project: 2020s Movie–The Northman

If you ever want to watch a movie that captures what it feels like to read Norse mythology, then check out The Northman. The Robert Eggers film starring Alexander Skarsgård truly captures the feeling of those stories. It has just about everything you could want: brutal fight scenes, witches, magic swords, prophecy, and most importantly…revenge.

I do not understand why this movie flopped at the box office. I mean, it came out in 2022, but have any movies really done well since COVID? I would have expected all of the people who loved the show Vikings to rush out to see it, and yet they did not. I think horror fans thought it would be scary since it was an Eggers film. I do not know, people are strange. Everyone screams they want more original movies that are not just remakes, or superhero movies, but then they do not go out and watch the movies that stray from the normal path.
