The Last of Us–Episode 204

This show loves to go in an unexpected direction. We get this flashback scene of FEDRA soldier, Isaac (played by the always brilliant Jeffrey Wright), he ends up betraying his unit and joining the WLF. When we come back to the present, he is torturing a captured cult member, and it turns out he is the leader of the WLF. There was a line from the captive that I liked: we have people defect from your side to ours, but no one ever leaves us to come to you. It looks like both groups are assholes, so fun to watch them both get wiped out.

Ellie and Dina decide to infiltrate the WLF base, but find it was a cult massacre of the WLF. Then the WLF shows up, they search for the people who killed their friends, and the girls have to make a crazy escape. Unfortunately, they rile up some zombies, and there is a crazy escape through the subway. It was very intense, and the only way Dina is able to escape is by Ellie allowing herself to be bitten. Then she has to tell Dina the truth.

Which leads us to a whole new revelation: Dina is pregnant! Oh, and she loves Ellie. I guess they can be a throuple with Jesse. They were able to steal a WLF walkie-talkie, so they know one of Abby’s friends is at some hospital. I am still convinced they end up walking into the middle of a Cult vs. WLF fight, and they will have to choose a side to help. 

Anyways, my favorite part of the episode was Ellie singing “Take On Me” by A-ha, and Dina just totally melting watching her play guitar. I read somewhere that Bella Ramsey is actually a very good guitarist, and they had to have her dial it back for the scene to make it seem like she was rusty, and a bit of a novice. Kind of funny.
