2021 Fantasy Baseball Week 5

This was the closest 7-3 win I have ever had (no clue if that is an accurate statement). It could have easily swung the other way to Jason winning big. Fortunately, I held on for the win and continued my winning streak. My relief pitching carried me this week.

The big news this week was the trade between Ryan and me. He offered me Tatis, Acuña, and Julio Urias for Harper, Cole, and Ke’Bryan Hayes. I debated the trade for about an hour. First I checked to see if there was an injury I was missing. Then I asked a few folks for their thoughts. Last, I asked Ryan if he meant to send that trade. He said that he did and he explained his reasoning. I understood his thinking and decided to go for it. I hate losing Gerrit Cole, but I could not pass up Acuña.

Fantasy Stud
John Means threw a no-hitter this week. Did anyone have an Orioles pitcher doing that this year in their predictions? Gideon had him in his battle against Adam2. The crazy thing is that Zack Wheeler pitched a complete game shutout where he only gave up three hits. The funny thing is that James was streaming Means for a few starts, but then Gideon picked him up on April 30th. Yeah, that was a smart move.

The League
Gideon 10 Adam2 2–it was an interesting pitching battle between these two. Adam2 had the Ws and Ks, while Gideon had the relief pitching, which helped keep his rate stats low (Means also helped those stats too).
Dustin 9 Matt 3–did I once trade Stanton to Dustin, and then he went off to hit like 60 home runs? I may have to look into that…
Sean 9 Pat 2–I do not understand how Sean’s team wins and how Pat’s team loses.
James 10 Ryan 2–damn, Ryan did some major trash-talking and then did not back it up at all. I mean, it does not matter since James is still in 5th place and barely above .500.

Next Up
Can I make it six in a row? I hope so, but it will be tough since James looks like he played pretty well last week. Or maybe he just got lucky.

Jason’s favorite band is Radiohead. He would always say that “Creep” is one of their worst songs or that they did not even like playing it anymore. He will love me for posting a video of PMJ doing a fantastic cover of it.
