Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to all my friends and family!
We are starting the halfway point of the ’20s. Or even crazier, we are now a quarter way through the 21st century (okay, not really, since the century began in 2001, but whatever, I may not remember to write this next year).
I usually skip out on resolutions and all that sort of stuff, but this year I decided to give it a shot. I am going to be 45 this year. I may not have too many years left, I know that is a little morbid, but my dad died before he turned 60. I do not want that to happen, so I need to get into better shape. Yeah yeah yeah, I am sure I have said this before, but today I took my first step. Payton, Logan, and I went for a run. I am not going to say how far, but it was a beginning.
A few weeks ago, Payton and Logan were wrestling, and Payton was out of breath after a little bit. She was upset about this and wanted to know how she could get in shape, I told her that we could start running/exercising. Logan came with us on our little run, but I have no clue how long he will be able to do it, since he is five, and has tiny legs. He may not be able to keep up with us.
My goal is nothing crazy. I am not looking to lose 50 pounds or anything. I do want to drop a few pounds (right now I am hovering around 200, I need to get down to the 180s). But the real goal is to just not be out of breath whenever I do anything remotely athletic. Chasing the kids in the yard? I am huffing and puffing after a few minutes. That needs to stop. I am not looking to run marathons or anything, but it would be nice to not drop dead because I was racing the kids at softball practice.
I hope everyone has a great 2025! Let me know your resolutions, maybe we can all help each other achieve them.
