2019 Preview
It is the beginning of a new year, so that means every site out there is posting previews of the year to come. I figured I would give it a shot. I know everyone is dying to know what I have planned for 2019.
Movies
I am excited for a few movies this year.
Captain Marvel–March 8th
Avengers: Endgame–April 26th
Spider-Man: Far From Home–July 5th
Lion King–July 19th
Glass–January 18th
Star Wars IX–December 20th
Shazam!–April 5th
Captive State–March 19th
These are the movies I am excited for the most. There are other movies that look good and I hope to catch them, but these are the ones I will try to see in the theater. I am really hoping Lion King can be Payton’s first movie in the theater.
Television
Game of Thrones…is there any other show worth watching this year?
My television watching is really bad. I think 2019 needs to be the year I make some tough decisions. For example, do I really need to watch the Arrowverse shows? I feel like there are so many better shows out there that I could invest my precious time.
Books
Children of Ruin by Adrian Tchaikovsky (May 14th). I loved Children of Time and this sequel should be pretty good.
The Burning White by Brent Weeks (August 27th). The final Lightbringer book. I like this series, but it has dragged on and I am ready for it to be done.
There are a few other series that I am hoping will have books out this year. I will not even pretend to believe Winds of Winter will be out in 2019…or 2020.
Vacations
I do not know where we are going this year. At the moment, nothing is planned, but that can always change. I would imagine there will be a trip to the beach at some point. Personally, I think this year would be a good time to just stay home, spend those vacation days getting stuff done around the house. Save money. My wife will not agree with me.
Music
Believe it or not, I might actually try to go to a concert this year. I can get tickets through work, so I may take advantage of it. Unfortunately, all of the shows I am interested in seeing are happening around the time the baby is due…so maybe not.
Sports
Hopefully I can go to a few more Pirates games this year. I think I made it to two. We did hit up a Curve game and I went to a Pens playoff game last year. I look forward to taking Kid2 to his first baseball game. I also hope to get out golfing even more this year than last.
Payton Stuff
She will turn two in a few days. I look forward to seeing how she continues to grow up. We had some fun days where she and I went to the playground or took Samson for a walk, but I think those types of things will be more regular this year and even more fun. Hopefully she masters the ability to jump at some point in 2019 and the ability to catch a ball.
Son Stuff
Okay, so obviously he will be born in a few months. We are very behind when it comes to having stuff ready. First order of business is taking down the Christmas stuff, then we need to start getting his room ready. We also need to figure out what stuff we need for him. We kept saying “oh we have plenty of time” and now we are like “oh damn, we have almost no time!” Oh, and we should probably figure out his name.
These are the things I am looking forward to in 2019. Something tells me two of these things will dominate my life more than the others….
