Decades Project: 1970s Music–The Beginnings of Heavy Metal

I remember in 7th grade music class, we read an article about the history of heavy metal. The article was talking about the guitar distortion and how Led Zeppelin was one of the first bands to really use that sound. I have no clue how true it was, but I have told countless people that story when discussing metal bands. So this week we will enjoy a few of the early pioneers of the genre. 

The beginnings of heavy metal are there when you listen to Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath. Can you ask for a better trio of bands to help get you pumped up for the weekend?
