Decades Project: 2010s Movie–The Place Beyond the Pines

I feel like the 2010s were the decade of Ryan Gosling. Dude was in everything. He was excellent in the film Drive, and he followed that performance up with a similar role in The Place Beyond the Pines. I think people dismiss this movie because of the similarities in the characters, but he was definitely different, and the movie was not about his character. I mean, it was, but there was much more to the film than just Luke. I always thought Dane DeHaan was excellent in this movie. 

The movie is about two men, and how their actions eventually affect the lives of their children. I think about half of the film is about Ryan Gosling, then the rest of the movie takes place fifteen years later, and revolves around his son.
