Penn State Wrestling is Beyond Great

I watched the Penn State/Iowa dual meet last night. It is insane how good the Nittany Lions are at this point. The Hawkeyes are the second-best team in the country, and the PSU wrestling team absolutely destroyed them. If you are not a wrestling fan, you can still appreciate just how great they have been during this incredible dynasty.
To highlight the night, Mitchell Mesenbrink beat Michael Caliendo. MM won by tech fall, 19-4, over the #2 wrestler at 165 lbs. Caliendo looked like some first year wrestler against Mesenbrink, instead of someone who most people think will be in the NCAA finals this year.
The Nittany Lions look like they are wrestling at a whole other level compared to their opponents. The Hawkeyes did not look ready, nor to be in the same kind of physical shape. Most matches saw the Hawkeye wrestlers gassed into the third period.
On a side note, Iowa wrestling fans and Penn State football fans are basically the same. The Hawkeyes get beat by PSU every year, and still end up as one of the top teams in the country, and it is not good enough for them (for good reason, Iowa was the top dog for soooo many years). They want Tom Brands fired, and the things they say sound exactly like a certain subset of Penn State fans screaming for James Franklin to be fired.
As a Penn State fan, it is just fun to be able to witness this. I will enjoy it for as long as it lasts.
