Someone Special Dance–Year 3

The Someone Special Dance was last Friday, but this year was slightly different: the entire family got to go instead of just Payton and me! We decided to keep the dinner tradition (Payton and I went with Adam & Em to eat at Capri, while Lindsey and Logan went with Lincoln and Kayla to Applebee’s). Once we finished eating, we had some time to kill, so the four of us went to a few stores and then to Starbucks. Maybe next year we should go a little later. 

We got to the dance and things were about as we expected. Payton immediately ditched us to hang with her friends. Logan was not sure at first, but then he and his friends started running around, and eventually they were doing full on sprints. Logan was sweating pretty good and ditched the jacket. 

There was a funny moment when Payton was looking for her friends, and she came over and asked if I would go downstairs with her to see if they were down there. We walked down, and as soon as she found them she turned to me and said “you can go back upstairs now, Dad!” Thanks Payton! Glad to be of service. To be fair, she was super excited leading up to the dance, especially when it came to picking out an outfit. She was very worried that I would not match her dress. I thought I did a good job. 

Maybe next year Payton will actually dance with me…if not, it will at least be fun to stand around and talk to our friends.
