2024 Fantasy Baseball: Championship!

What a fantastic championship match! These two took it down to the final day. They were tied 6-6, but then Ryan pulled ahead because of some solid hitting, and some excellent pitching choices. His pitchers had 4 wins, 44 strikeouts, and a 2.59 ERA, while James sported an 8.74 ERA. That was enough to flip that category. Ryan’s hitters flipped average as well.
Congratulations to Ryan for his 7th championship! And do not worry James, someday you will be a champion…maybe.

Some fun facts, Ryan has gone back-to-back-to-back (2009-2011) and back-to-back twice (2014-2015 and 2023-2024). During that first run, he also won the regular season three straight years (2010-2012). He has won the regular season seven times as well, but only in the same season twice. His worst season came in 2018 when he finished 8th during the regular season, and 7th in the playoffs. Ryan is good at fantasy baseball.
As some of you know, I have a points race between us. First place is five points, second is four, third is three, fourth is two, and fifth is one. You get points for your regular season finish, and playoffs. Ryan has 119 points. I am in second place with 80 points. After that we have Gideon (76), Offord (70), Sean (45), James (42), and Jason (39). Other people have points as well, but they are so far behind that they would need to dominate for like eight years to catch up.
So aside from Ryan, who else has done anything?
Championships:
Josh (yes, me!)–3
Offord–2
Gideon–2
Sean–1
Adam2 (who no longer plays)–2
Regular Season Titles:
Offord: 1
Gideon: 3
Josh: 2
James: 2
Lindsey: 1
Ready for something weird??? The donut stat, you know, when you win 12-0. Ryan finally had his first one this year. I have had six and Gideon has three. Imler somehow has two, but no championships of any kind. Since 2006 there have only been 20 Donuts. Seems crazy when you think that people stop paying attention (or sometimes there are multiple people who do not even attempt to try).
Speaking of people not trying…I am most likely going to drop two teams next year. Lindsey only fills a team because we need an even number. But after looking at the rosters this year, it looks like Pat never does anything with his team. So I may drop his team. I considered dropping multiple teams, but I do not want to get too crazy. Just think of the players that will be available during next year’s draft!
Anyways, great season everyone! I look forward to doing this again next year.
