Friday Five–Penn State Wrestlers

This week is the NCAA Wrestling Championships, and Penn State is expected to win another title. I always paid attention to Penn State wrestling, but it was probably in the last ten years when I started watching more (when I moved back to Philipsburg from Pittsburgh, Adam would invite me over to watch the NCAA finals). I started thinking about my favorite Nittany Lion wrestlers…

There is no order to these five: Bo Nickal, David Taylor, Aaron Brooks, Roman Bravo-Young, and Mitchell Messenbrink. I think each of them had a different enough style and personality. They are all fun to watch. Bo because of the exciting pins that could come out of nowhere. Taylor because come on, he’s the Magic Man! Aaron Brooks, I mean, he is just so technically sound, you never saw him in a bad position. RBY for his explosiveness. And now? Mitchell Messenbrink because of how relentless he is against opponents, the pace never slows. I love it.
