The Last of Us–Episode 201

The second season kicked off with a reminder of how last season ended: with Joel rescuing Ellie from the Fireflies, but then telling her that they were attacked by raiders. Then the focus shifts onto another group who is burying the dead. They vow vengeance against the guy who did this, whose name might be Joe or Joel. I love that Abby is played by Kaitlyn Dever who was amazing in Justified as Loretta.
The show then jumps five years into the future. Joel and Ellie are living in Jackson, and it seems like the community is thriving. Unfortunately, there is definitely a rift between Joel and Ellie. Does she know what happened at the hospital? We do not know at the moment.
-The therapy session was interesting. At first, I thought the doctor meant Joel killed her husband at the hospital. But then I remembered she said it was a year ago, and that event happened five years ago. I am guessing her husband was infected, and Joel decided to put him down.
-Ellie and her friend (Dina?) went on patrol, and things got a little tense. Not going to lie, when Ellie is hunting after the zombie, and it is stalking her…I was starting to sweat a little bit. Looks like the zombies are becoming a little more intelligent. Probably a bad thing.
-To make matters worse, the roots that have grown throughout the pipes in Jackson, also have some of the mycelium interwoven…so I guess that means the zombies will have a target.
-Oh, and if you thought that was bad? Abby and the Revengers have found Jackson. Something tells me season two will be intense.
